US Army Reserve FEST members assist USACE’s COVID19 response projects for Navajo Nation

Within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Albuquerque District has the lead assisting the Navajo Nation with their COVID19 response. The Albuquerque District is primarily assisting in the area of constructing alternate care facilities for the Navajo Nation and Indian Health Service.

In the daily ACF roll up brief from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Javits Center in New York, NY; the TCF Center in Chicago and the Missouri ACF in Florissant, MO are all listed at 100% complete. Construction is underway on 18 additional locations for a total of 21 alternate care sites. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is working in support of the FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency - and in coordination with other federal, state, local and tribal partners – in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This listing of USACE contracts awarded to support Alternate Care Facilities will be updated daily. This report is valid as of April 1, 2020. An Alternate Care Site (ACS) is a facility that’s temporarily converted for healthcare use during a public health emergency to reduce the burden on hospitals and established medical facilities. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are working to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during this national emergency.

Work is being done in support of FEMA-led COVID-19 Pandemic Response NEW YORK— The US Army Corps of Engineers, USACE, continues to make significant progress in its efforts to support the FEMA-led response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. Nationwide, USACE has received 5 FEMA Mission Assignments (MAs) totaling $357 million, and has more than 250 personnel providing support.
