      <title>Corps of Engineers participating in virtual National Safety Stand-Down 2020 </title>

      <description>Originally scheduled for May 4-8, the event is rescheduled for Sept. 14 -18.  USACE is expanding on OSHA’s efforts to include fall prevention in the workplace to encompass all elements of the USACE mission.&lt;br/&gt; 
&lt;img src='https://media.defense.gov/2020/Aug/17/2002586803/115/75/0/200817-A-QY194-002.JPG' alt='Sacramento District’s Bryte Yard teammates Greg Jerman, James Helm, Tony Theard, Vince Diaz and Mike Guidry fashion a ladder as a base for a fall prevention safety display. The display is used to remind workers of the importance of preventing falls in the construction industry. The Sacramento District maintenance yard, located in the West Sacramento community of Bryte, is home to the team of craftsmen with skills in vessel and heavy equipment operation, carpentry, electrical, pipefitting, plumbing, metal fabrication, welding. The Bryte Yard Team will be participation in the virtual 7th Annual Safety Stand-Down set for Sept. 14 -18.' /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;

      <description>Q: Describe your public affairs experience?

A: I started working for the US Army Corps of Engineers as a public affairs specialist in August 2018. Prior to working for the Corps, I was a photographer for the Army’s Multimedia Visual Information Directorate working at the Pentagon. Prior to federal service I spent five years as a mass communication specialist in the U.S. Navy. In addition, I have degrees in journalism and professional media.

Q: What class did you attend?

A: I attended the Department of Defense’s Public Affairs Qualification Course at the Defense Information School on Ft. Meade, Maryland.&lt;br/&gt;
