David Turner, USACE South Pacific Division commander, meets with STEM majors, ROTC Cadets, and faculty at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Ga. during a day-long event hosted by the Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) on April 11, 2014. Turner spoke about STEM Careers in the U.S. Army Engineer Branch and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He said engineering and science graduates have tremendous opportunities to provide world-class engineering solutions for our Nation's toughest challenges.

Turner spoke about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics or STEM careers in the U.S. Army Engineer Branch and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He said engineering and science graduates have tremendous opportunities to provide world-class engineering solutions for our Nation's toughest challenges.

U.S. Army has career opportunities which include flood risk reduction, inland and coastal navigation, environmental restoration, disaster response, military construction, engineering research and development, and national defense. USACE and A/E, Construction and Environmental contractors that support civil works and military programs hire graduates from a variety of majors including: civil, mechanical, and general engineering, biology, environmental, geology, business and public administration

 Turner highlighted Federal hiring programs for students and recent graduates, and leadership opportunities for ROTC graduates who choose Engineer Branch.
