South Pacific Division Teammates,

As one of our Nation's oldest and most significant holidays, Memorial Day remembers all of those throughout our history who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  Born out of the Civil War, Memorial Day came about as people across the Nation decorated sites of the fallen with the American flag. In modern day, we continue the tradition of honoring our fellow Americans.

At USACE, one of our goals is to "Support National Security."  We endeavor to make the world a safer place ~ we do this by "Taking Care of People!"  Whether you travel or rest this Memorial Day weekend, I ask that you pause and reflect upon freedom and honor--principles that have built our great Nation and our American identity.

Here in the Bay Area, we are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful regions of the country. As you know, USACE helps to preserve this stunning landscape. If you find the time, please use the link below to see what our Park Managers and Park Rangers do. Visit this USACE HQ website for more information: http://www.usace.army.mil/Missions/CivilWorks/Recreation.aspx

From my Family to yours, please enjoy a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

Warm Regards,

BG Toy
