    Corps, Newport Beach partner during cleanup event at salt marsh

    Representatives with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District and the City of Newport Beach hosted a cleanup event Sept. 23 at the Santa Ana River Marsh in Newport Beach. The cleanup of the 92-acre saltwater marsh area was in recognition of National Public Lands Day.

    Commander Col. Andrew Baker and leaders of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Energy Resilience Project, Aug. 11, at Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos, California. The project was joint effort, involving the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Energy & Environment), California Military Department, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Bright Canyon Energy.

  • USACE completes walk through, final inspection of Lario Park

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed a final walk-through inspection of Lario Park with representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency March 19 in Azusa. Following the devastating wildfires in nearby Altadena, the EPA, working under a clean-up mission for FEMA, procured use of the park as a temporary staging area from late January to mid-March. EPA used the site to collect, sort and transport household hazardous materials from the Eaton Wildfire.
