Emergency Management Mission

 

The Emergency Management  branch for the South Pacific Division  of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers  is engaged in planning, training, and response activities for natural disasters, national emergencies, and civil support.

Specifically, South Pacific Division Emergency Management executes USACE authorities for:

  • Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies including inspecting federal levees and qualifying non-federal levees and floodfighting authorities
  • National Emergency Preparedness Program including Continuity of Operations planning for the Northwestern Division

In addition, these organizations support the USACE role as lead of Emergency Support Function 3 (ESF #3) of the National Response Plan (NRP) by supporting the readiness and deployment of USACE volunteers to work on Federally-declared disasters.
