District leadership visit Arizona project sites
Col. Julie Balten, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, and David Van Dorpe, deputy district engineer, toured Arizona-Nevada Area Office projects Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 in Arizona. Her first visit to Arizona since assuming command in July. Balten met stakeholders, spoke with employees, presented awards and viewed key projects.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is one of the leading federal ecosystem restoration agencies in the Lake Tahoe Basin and has worked with local, state and other federal partners since 1997 to preserve the lake’s prized clarity by restoring natural inflows and controlling invasive species. Corps involvement in the Lake Tahoe Basin is shaped by two programs -- the Tahoe Partnership and the Tahoe Section 108 programs.

Restoration Advisory Board approved for Titan 1-A FUDS project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District Commander has approved the establishment of a Restoration Advisory Board related to environmental restoration activities at the Former Beale AFB Titan 1-A Missile Complex.
