SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District will host a public meeting in Temecula, Calif., on Jan. 22, 2020, to share information regarding the planned activities during the remedial investigation of military munitions at the Former Temecula Bombing Target No. 107. The formerly used defense site is approximately five miles east of the City of Temecula.
USACE will also seek input during the meeting to determine if there is enough interest to establish a Restoration Advisory Board, which would provide a forum for community members to present input to USACE and regulators about environmental plans and documents related to the environmental restoration process at the site.
“The intent of the RAB is to bring together local community members with diverse interests to enable the flow of information, concerns, and needs between the affected community and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,” said Craig Johnson, a senior project manager with AECOM, a contractor providing environmental services for USACE.
Additional information on the site’s history, the Military Munitions Response Program and Formerly Used Defense Site Program, and munitions awareness and educational materials will also be shared.
