Two Non-Federal Sponsors, the California Coastal Conservancy and Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) joined Lt. Col. John Baker, San Francisco District commander, and his District team to show Brig. Gen. Turner, South Pacific Division commander, projects during a day-long tour that began in at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Education Center, Alviso, Calif. and ended at the Port of Redwood City. Turner was pleased to learn the water district is aligned with the Integrated Water Management Approach, described in the “California’s Flood Future Highlights” report http://www.spd.usace.army.mil/Portals/13/docs/regulatory/publicnotices/PRD_FFR_4-3-13(full).pdf occuring on projects in the South San Francisco Bay Area.
