ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District has announced changes to lake operations in New Mexico and Colorado amid health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective today, USACE-Albuquerque District is taking measures throughout its lake offices to reduce risk to guests, volunteers and personnel.

“The Corps of Engineers is being proactive to prioritize the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and employees,” said Lt. Col. Larry Caswell, commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District. “We will do what we can to maintain our recreation opportunities for the community, but ensuring public safety is our top priority.”
