    South Pacific Division Commander Colonel Mike Wehr and FEMA Region IX Administrator Nancy Ward met Monday, August 8, to discuss progress and collaboration working with the states of California and Nevada to inventory levee conditions, and modernize floodplain maps and data bases.

    Air Force Director for Engineering and Environment Meets USACE South Pacific Division Team

    SAN FRANCISCO -- U.S. Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) Director Terry Edwards visited the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Pacific Division Headquarters July 18 to discuss Air Force priorities with the team that oversees military construction execution at 11 Air Force bases in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and New Mexico.

    As of July 11, the Las Conchas fire continues to burn and has scarred nearly 150,000 acres of Santa Fe National Forest in Sandoval, Los Alamos and Rio Arriba counties in northern New Mexico and has caused eight injuries.
