    SPK Park Ranger Wins USACE Art Challenge Honoring Earth Day

    Sacramento District park ranger Shawna Polen was announced as the Grand Champion of the USACE Sustainable Art Challenge, held in honor of Earth Day. Polen submitted a handmade, leatherbound book for the winning entry.
  • USACE leadership joins DTRA to celebrate official opening of new building at Kirtland

    USACE-South Pacific Division and Albuquerque District leadership joined DTRA, KAFB, and Hensel Phelps Construction officials in officially opening the new DTRA Albuquerque multi-use building, June 12, 2024.

    Lt. Gen. Scott Spellmon, 55th chief of engineers and commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, signed the Chief’s Report for the Oakland Harbor Turning Basins Widening Study on May 31, 2024, during a ceremony at USACE Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The milestone represents a culmination of four years of study between the USACE San Francisco District and the Port of Oakland, the non-federal project sponsor. More importantly, the signing of the report advances the project to Congress for authorization.

    Nine USACE-Albuquerque District employees receive Steel, Bronze de Fleury Medals

    One of the highest honors awarded in the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment is the de Fleury Medal. The medal honors and recognizes those individuals who have provided significant contributions to Army Engineering. The medal also emphasizes the history, customs, and traditions of the Corps of Engineers community. Recently nine district employees were recognized with a de Fleury Medal.

    The Albuquerque District's Acequia Restoration and Rehabilitation program successfully completed project work for the Farmer’s Mutual Ditch Association in Farmington, N.M., April 12, 2024.
