    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service hosted a public meeting for the Painted Rock Marsh Restoration project Oct. 18 at the Gila Bend Library in Gila Bend, Arizona.

    Wave of Construction Kicks Off at Folsom Dam

    Folsom Dam is not just one structure; it’s made up of a main dam, two wing dams (left and right), the Mormon Island Auxiliary Dam, and the eight dikes. Dike 8 was the first of all this infrastructure to be raised 3.5 feet, but far from the last. All of these components are scheduled to undergo a similar raise by 2027.

  • USACE begins improvements to Folsom Dam Dikes 1-6

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District has begun site preparation at Folsom Dam Dike 1 in Granite Bay, California, so contractors can raise the site up to 3.5 feet as part of the Folsom Dam Raise project.
  • USACE lowers Isabella Dam risk rating, lifts operating restrictions

    Operators at Isabella Dam can once again allow the lake to reach full capacity after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers updated the dam’s risk level from “highest urgency and risk” to “low urgency” following the completion of dam safety improvements in 2022.
