    Collaboration and persistence bring South Sacramento Habitat Conservation Plan to life

    How do you preserve the Sacramento region’s agriculture, natural resources, endangered species and critical habitat, while still allowing for the necessary growth of area cities and housing? With dogged determination and working together with area agencies for more than 20 years.

    Tambour Eller on site at Mosul Dam in Iraq. Eller served as the project executive for the Mosul Dam Task Force and was recognized as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Employee of the Year for her work on the task force as well as work with USACE's Sacramento District and South Atlantic Division. Eller stated that her time on the task force was a wonderful experience and encouraged other USACE civilians to volunteer for deployment opportunities.

    USACE Employee Awarded Top Honors for Three Separate Assignments

    Tambour Eller, currently serving as the project executive on the Mosul Dam Task Force during its final close out, was recently named the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civilian of the Year. Eller received the award for her combined work in three jobs over the course of the awards period.

  • COCHITI LAKE, N.M. - Dave Derrick, instructor, (right) and a workshop participant tie bundles of newly cut plantings in preparation for transport to a different location at Cochiti Lake during the hands-on riparian construction workshop held February 26-27. Cochiti Lake was selected for the location for the workshop because of the opportunities available to rehabilitate the shoreline with native species. This rehabilitation will provide habitat for a wide range of riparian-dependent fauna and improve water quality.
