    Matt Masten (left), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District's Arizona-Nevada Area Office chief of technical and environmental support section, speaks with Rachel Kerr, a geologist and program manager at Ahtna Environmental, Inc., and Fran Firouzi (center), a district project manager for the Installation Restoration Program. The presentation was held under the guise of the Army Defense Environmental Restoration Program as the Installation Restoration Program in this case. The program manager is the Army Environmental Center and USACE supports the program through the local district as the executing agent for environmental remediation at the fort.

    Sacramento River levee improvements next step in $1.5 billion plan to modernize Sacramento-area flood infrastructure

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District awarded a $64 million construction contract on February 14 to Maloney Odin Joint Venture of Novato, California, for nearly three miles of levee improvements along the Sacramento River East Levee.

James, assistant secretary of the Army for civil works, during his visit, Jan. 22.
